UAE Builds Worldwide Publishing Partnerships at the Beijing Book Fair

The Emirates Publishers Association (EPA), which is represented by a prestigious group of both established and up-and-coming publishing houses, is taking part in the 2025 Beijing International Book Fair, bringing attention to the UAE's experience growing its publishing sector, especially in the areas of children's books and cutting-edge educational materials.

The EPA's continued dedication to empowering Emirati publishers, increasing chances for international cooperation, and enhancing the UAE's standing on the international publishing scene is demonstrated by this participation in the second-largest book fair in the world and Asia's largest copyrights exchange platform.

The Association's program at the exhibition, which runs from June 18 to 22, includes a number of high-level events that bring together publishing experts and content producers from China and the United Arab Emirates.  The 2025 Global Children’s Book Forum, with the theme “Integrated Innovation in Children’s Books Amid New Realities,” is a major event on the agenda. The Association used this forum to highlight the UAE’s innovative contributions to the global book industry, especially in promoting children’s publishing and encouraging young minds to read.

With a distinctive fusion of established experience and up-and-coming voices in children's literature and educational publishing, the EPA's booth at the exhibition offers a lively glimpse into the UAE's dynamic publishing scene.  Publishers who have completed the "Onshur" program—an effort designed to provide professional and technical assistance to the next generation of publishing entrepreneurs in the United Arab Emirates—are among the participants.

Dr. Asmaa Emara, the founder of Dal for Publishing, a publishing house devoted to cutting-edge methods of teaching Arabic, and Fatema Al Hammadi, the founder of Sohub Publishing and Distribution, which specializes in educational materials for students with autism and those with a strong will, are representing the "Onshur" graduates.

Salim Abdulrahman, Managing Director of AlRewaya Publishing, Ghassan Rabih, representative of Dar Rabie Publishing, and Hamda Al Baloushi, Manager of Aalamkom Publishing and Distribution, Treasurer and Board Member of the EPA, are among the featured publishers.

A panel discussion titled "Nurturing Young Minds: Children's Publishing Priorities in the UAE and China" is also on the event schedule. Publishers Hamda Al Baloushi and Ghassan Rabih will participate, along with a number of eminent Chinese children's publishers.

Speaking about the Association's involvement, EPA Executive Director Rashid Al Kous emphasized that the agency's attendance at significant international book fairs offers a strategic chance to exchange copyrights, build professional networks, and investigate new markets for Arabic and Emirati content.

Her involvement, according to publisher Hamda Al Baloushi, was a major turning point in her career since it allowed her to interact and communicate with publishers from all over the world. She also mentioned that it has created new opportunities for cooperation and the sharing of copyrights, especially in the Asian market.
