Book Review: Perfect (Pretty Little Liars Book 3) by Sara Shepard

“Before you enbark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves.”

― Sara Shepard, Perfect

The #1 New York Times best-selling book series that served as the basis for the popular Pretty Little Liars television series on ABC Family and the forthcoming Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin on HBO! Four perfect-looking girls in Rosewood, Pennsylvania, aren't quite as flawless as they appear. This third novel in Sara Shepard's #1 New York Times bestselling Pretty Little Liars series introduces new twists to the suspenseful and magnetically intriguing world of Pretty Little Liars, where everyone has something to conceal and no secret remains hidden for long. It is ideal for readers of One of Us Is Lying, The Cousins, and A Good Girl's Guide to Murder.

Synopsis from Goodreads...

In Rosewood, Pennsylvania, four perfect- looking girls aren't nearly as perfect as they seem.

Aria can't resist her forbidden ex. Hanna is on the verge of losing her BFF. Emily is freaking out over a simple kiss. And Spencer can't keep her hands off anything that belongs to her sister.

Lucky me. I know these pretty little liars better than they know themselves. But it's hard keeping all of their secrets to myself. They better do as I say... or else!

My reaction to the novel...

I'm overjoyed to have finished reading Pretty Little Liars' third novel. Since I am replaying every scenario from the book in my thoughts, it feels as though I am part in their challenges and problems. Even though this book is geared for young adult readers, Sara Shepard truly astonished me with how she managed to make me appreciate it. It doesn't appear that way since the tale is really well-written despite the fact that she utilized straightforward language that made it simple to understand. I like how adept Sara Shepard is at enrapturing her readers and how persistently she manages to do so.

The torture techniques used by A just become better and better. The remaining secrets are revealed, generating friction not just amongst the sisters but also with their families and others close to them. You won't have any mental peace after reading this book since you'll believe that each chapter has something that every reader should know. Each chapter has a surprise. There are many sequences that are based on straightforward situations, and I adore them. It's like peeling an onion. It has many layers of skin, just as it has many levels of secrets.

I can say that Hana and Emily are two of my favorite characters in this novel. They are really simple-minded individuals who sincerely desire to forget the past. What happened to Hana left me in a state of astonishment. I halted and took a deep breath. Even though I anticipated what would happen to her, I still have a lot of questions that I can't discuss here since they include spoilers. I  In regard I really genuinely want justice for Hana's character and  I truly wanted to punish Mona. She makes a character that I absolutely dislike.

I can't wait to get my hands on the next book. The third book was equally fantastic as the previous two. However, I'm sure you already knew that. I'm going crazy because there is so much uncertainty. The identities of "A" and Ali's murderer are both so close to being revealed. There are several details and the series is skillfully written. Definitely worth suggesting, as it's pretty great.

My Overall Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨(4.5/5)

“Life is hard already. Why make it harder?”

Life is really difficult, thus making things easy for ourselves is reasonable. We will not only live in turmoil if we make our lives miserable, but we will also experience misery that makes us believe that life is not worth living. In order to reduce the stress of our everyday life and to feel happy and satisfied, it is best to do and seek out activities that will accomplish just that. Because life is really difficult, but it is up to us to figure out how to deal with it.

“It’s amazing what you don’t see, though. Even when it’s right in front of your eyes.”

Most of the time, we choose to ignore what is happening around us because we think it is a normal occurrence rather than because we are frightened to witness it. The specifics of our daily life are simply too familiar for us to envision and examine. Sometimes what we are looking for is right in front of us; all we need to do is open our eyes and see it clearly.

“We don’t always love our friends every minute.”

It is important to value friendship. But just like any relationship, a friendship may also go through heartbreaks, arguments, and misunderstandings. We don't always get along with and comprehend our friends. You will undoubtedly have moments when you doubt your friendship and times when you misjudge one another, but it is in these moments that you can gauge how strongly your connection is bonded. It is not crucial that friends do not argue or misunderstand one another; what matters is how you handle the conflict and maintain your friendship.
